Master Cribbage / Big Crib When I was a kid we received a cribbage board with a score of 300. When we read the rules it turns out that it was a 9 card deal with a 3 card discard. Anybody heard of it and any chance you have the rules. The basics are the same but I am looking for the flush rules, they were I believe, slightly different. Thanks James
Cribbage is an old and popular card game, enjoyed by both young and old. And recently, it has had a bit of a popularity rise on college campuses. All this adds up to the fact that cribbage boards make great gifts.
When making a cribbage board, the only real woodworking problem to be solved is how to drill 240-plus holes accurately and efficiently. And that is where the CNC router comes to the fore. We have provided CNC programing of this cribbage board - click here to download both .CRV and .TAP files for free.
Speaking of that, if you don't have a CNC at your disposal, we have provided a link to a cribbage board pattern (click here to download the cribbage board pattern). Or you can purchase a pattern and drilling template that you can use to achieve the same results. If that is your choice, consider purchasing the self-guided drill bit as well. We've also provided a link to purchase cribbage pegs, however you choose to make the project.
I am looking at your CNC Oval Cribbage Board.I have a X-Carve CNC machine. Are your downloads for this project compatible with the Easel software used for this X-Carve. If so, which of the two downloads would be best? Also, do instructions come with the download?
Thanks.

Sure you can make several and stack them together. Just leave out the holes on one piece to make a bottom. I just used it as a template to drill out a much thicker board and route around to get the same shape.
Hello Fusion 360 world. I have a Carbide 3D Shapeoko XXL machine, and a trial version of Fusion 360, as apparently this is one of the best programs available for machining. The Carbide Create and Carbide Motion programs that come with the Shapeoko are fine for simple projects, but my first project was a cribbage board, and it became apparent that Carbide Motion does not drill holes or "peck" drill holes, hence, my trial version of Fusion 360. I have imported a SVG file, created a Model, but am struggling to get past that stage and work with CAM to create tool paths and then GBRL code. All I am trying to do is create a 1/8" pocket in the square and the maltese cross, and then drill or "peck" drill the peg holes to a 1/2" depth. Can anyone help with some simple instructions? I also have a Carbide 3D probe to set the x,y and z axis on the stock for the Shapeoko. I am very proficient with Adobe Illustrator and computers, but am having a real tough time with Fusion 360. I am almost at the point of hiring someone to create the first file, and I can learn from there. Thanks for any help!
Hi Seth - thank you very much for your reply. I have been in the firefighting business for almost 40 years, and my intention is to create a customized cribbage board for firefighters. After reviewing the forum, it seems you own it. I also checked out your website, and obviously, you have some very expensive machinery and expertise in CNC! When you are creating parts for Aerospace or Defense, it is funny that you would offer to help someone create a Cribbage Board.....but it is for firefighters.....any help would be appreciated! The file attached is as far as I could get with Fusion 360. I would like to just create products for the Fire Service, and not try to figure out the software. If I send you files, would you be willing to consider creating the GBRL files for the Shapeoko, and I could just pay your company for your time? Let me know. Thanks.
Hi Seth - wow, looks awesome! Can we change the Maltese Cross to a 1/8" pocket? Also, the final "out" hole is supposed to be in the middle of the Maltese Cross, (the winning hole in crib). I don't see it on the simulation. Is it there? Also, just noticed one of the holes is missing in the bottom right of the board (where the hole series starts to curve). Thanks again for your generous help.
This two-player cribbage board is formed of two parts, the board itself and a lid (that covers a cavity for the playing cards and cribbage pegs to sit inside)! The lid is cut as a two-sided assembly where there is room for personalisation on the top, I've VCarved Initials into the lid, but why not add some 3D relief to it instead.
This may be a good starting point for you. inventables.com McGinn's Cribbage BoardYou may find it easier to download the SVG files and setup your own design in better software. I find Easel doesn't play nice with anything with too many parts.See me make it here --> =4Ukrl_ikO7I
For those of you who wish to decorate the board yourself but don't want to drill 492 holes on a round board we also sell blank boards, already pre-drilled and with a peg pocket! Click here for details.
Once The Play is finished, the players take back their cards from the table and it's time to calculate the score for their hands, and the crib. These are always scored in the same order: pone's hand, dealer's hand, dealer's crib. As before, the scores are added to the scoreboard as soon as they are calculated, and if a player reaches 121 the game is over immediately, the other player doesn't get to count his score. This means that there's no chance of a tie, or both players going over 121 in the same round. The dealer will normally get more points since he scores both his hand and the crib, but the pone scores his hand first, so if they're both close to 121 the pone might win, even though the dealer would have gotten more points if he were allowed to count them.
As with every game, there are slight variations in how people play Cribbage. I've tried to look at many sources and pick the most "standard" rules I could. Some common variations is that the next-to-last hole on the scoreboard is the "stinkhole" and not all points count there. I'm not using that variation on this site, you can score wherever you are. There are undoubtedly other variations that people like and would like to see here, if a lot of people request a specific variation I would consider adding it, but I don't want to start adding different options for the game, I like picking one way to play a game and sticking with it.
The game is made using html+JavaScript+css with jQuery used for the animations. Most of the graphics used for the game I found at OpenClipArt, but the Cribbage board itself was made by me, for the first time I did some graphics work myself, which was actually fun! The awesome playing card images were made by Nicu Buculei, and the player images were made by Gerald G.
Our only two complains are this: there is no option for more than two players, and there is no way to toggle a score count. We would like to play with three players on the app and we would like to be able to see the score represented in numeral form instead of having to guess how many points we have based on th
